The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) has formally opened the 2025 application procedure.

Applications are now open and can close on fifteen December 2024.

*** Who qualifies for NSFAS funding

To qualify for NSFAS funding, an applicant will have to meet the following requirements:

• Be considered a South African citizen or copyright who originates from a home which has a combined gross home income that doesn't exceed R350 000 for each annum.

• Individuals with disabilities qualify if their combined house cash flow won't exceed R600 000 per annum.

• SASSA recipients immediately qualify for funding and need not post any evidence my nsfas of income.

*** Loan Scheme for the Missing Middle

The NSFAS Loan Scheme for the missing middle is open to all South African citizens and permanent people from homes with combined R350 000 and R600 000 for each annum.

Applicants are reminded to supply the correct Identity Doc numbers, names, and surname, as mirrored here within their South African ID.

NSFAS only funds people who are finding out or intend to research at a general public university or TVET college in South Africa.

All students who wish to study in any of the public universities and TVET colleges should apply timeously and not to wait until the last day.
